Description

The Albertine step light is designed to be built in rather than added on. The embedded housing goes into the wall during construction or renovation, and the finished fixture sits perfectly flush with the surface, so a stairway or driveway wall keeps its clean face and the light appears to come from the structure itself.

The output is deliberately indirect. Rather than throwing a beam at eye level, it casts light downward and outward across the tread or paving below, which is what makes a flight of stairs safe to use at night without the harsh contrast that actually makes steps harder to judge. Warm white 3000K keeps the effect soft on stone, brick and render.

Construction is aluminium with a glass face and a silicone sealing ring, painted and sanded to a smooth grey or black finish, and each fixture covers roughly 32 to 54 square feet. Two formats are offered: a 4-inch square and a wider 6 by 3-inch rectangle. Because the embedded parts must be fitted during building work, plan positions early. Hardwired at 110 to 220V; installation by a qualified electrician.
